Question: Does
pollution in our ground water finds its way into our plants?
Materials:
-
water
-
2 glasses
-
1 stalk of
celery
-
white
carnation
-
food
coloring
-
measuring
cup
Procedure:
-
Pour 1 cup
of water into each glass.
-
Add 20
drops of food coloring into each glass.
-
Cut off
bottom of stems of celery and carnation.
-
Place
celery in one glass and carnation in the other.
-
Leave for
a few hours.
-
Examine
the plants to see if the "pollution" has moved up through the
plants.
Conclusion:
-
Observe
the celery and carnation.
-
Has there
been a change in their appearance?
-
Could
pollution in our water supply do the same thing to the foods we eat?
